J,A,F,F,A. Club (Jesus A Friend For All)
The JAFFA Club is for children of primary school age to 10 years old and is held during term time on Mondays from 5pm until 6.15pm at the Borough Hall on the Headland.
The aim is to teach children about Jesus Christ in a relaxed and informal way through singing, simple Bible study, craft making, quizzes and playing games. All children aged between 3 and 10 are welcome!
2008 Harvest Celebration
Our annual Harvest Celebration took place on Sunday 28th September and this year’s theme was the Water of Life. Members of the congregation were entertained by the JAFFA kids who sang Great Big God and two of the children offered prayers of thanksgiving. The Bible reading, taken from John’s gospel, reminded everyone of the story about the woman at the well. This year’s special offering was donated to a charity specialising in providing clean water for third world countries. The afternoon’s worship concluded with a traditional song, Bringing in the Sheaves
Father’s Day Celebration & J.A.F.F.A. Club Annual Awards 2009
This year’s J.A.F.F.A. award ceremony was combined with the Fellowship’s Father’s Day celebration.
The Sunday afternoon service began with singing Jesus is Lord. Certificates were presented to some of the children for 100% attendance at the J.A.F.F.A. Club, and then the awards were given out. This year’s prizes comprised CD’s and bumper activity books. The congregation also enjoyed singing Father God I Wonder and Give Me Oil in my Lamp. The Bible reading was taken from Proverbs and the preacher spoke about God, our heavenly Father. Singing group, Spirit Level, participated in the service with a lively rendition of Beautiful One and the afternoon concluded with O Happy Day.
